With up and new coming technology touchscreen is being integrated into most general devices. But the question that rings is, is it worth your device being touchscreen there can be mixed reviews about the functions it provides. The pros and cons can depend on the user while a touch screen can be used to achieve point and click tasks sooner instead of using the touchpad and double clicking. Some drawbacks include: software complications, computer size, short battery life, and visible fingerprints on screen.

Let’s start with the last difficulty which was software complications. I have a friend who has a Lenovo Yoga laptop. My friend demonstrated that his computer would often have trouble with it’s orientation. As he would flip it from laptop to tablet mode and the device would stay stuck on tablet mode making it difficult to use when he would want to use it as a laptop.

The next problem is computer size with added touch screen capabilities. The screen requires certain attributes to recognize human prints. Which is not apart of common laptop compartments therefore It adds more depth to the device.  But it also adds an extra burden on your battery which reflects battery life. If the customer is often traveling they might see themselves charging their device frequently.

The last thing on the list goes to fingerprints seen all over the screen. With the option of having a touch screen, fingers are going to be a primary choice instead of using the usual touchpad. But a substitute for oily fingers can be a stylus. It looks like a pen but can be used to be more precise compared to your finger.

Some useful traits of touchscreen can be using the combination of a stylus and computer to take notes easier by just writing them down on your device compared to typing. But for some the addition of a touchscreen can be productive. Like I mentioned before, touch screens are now being combined with devices such as 2 in 1’s which is a tablet with a removable keyboard and now are a common device.
