Hewlett – Packard

The company was founded on January 1, 1939 by William Redington Hewlett and David Packard both of which have degrees in electrical engineering. In a garage located by Stanford University. The two were inspired to start the company by their engineering university professor, Frederick Terman. This immediately resulted in the introduction to “Silicon Valley”. They started off with products based on “audio oscillators”, their first product from this is known as the “HP200A”. With the start of World War II, the duo was able to make work and created projects for the military. After, the war HP would acquire currency from it’s popular electronic devices. In 1957, the company decided it would go public in the market also adding value to the company’s budget.
HP’s appeal towards electronics gave the company it’s strength to primarily focus on them. This launched what would be the company’s main source of income for the company. It took off and they soon started to grow their product line which included: calculators, semiconductors, computers and laptops.

Forward a couple years later in 1966 HP would commence it’s journey to computer technology. They managed to build their first computer named “HP 2116A”. HP continued to grow in the technology business with a device that launched in 1972 known as the “HP 3000” aimed at business related tasks and objectives.But the company’s first personal computer release was the desktop titled “HP – 85” in 1980. Four years later, the “HP – 110” established the role of laptop computers for the corporation we know today.
